PROXIMITY
Penrith is 55km west of Sydney. Katoomba, home of The Three Sisters (an incredible rock formation) is a leisurely 50 minute drive.
CLIMATE
The climate at World Cup time will be as comfortable as you could hope for-a maximum of 25c and a minimum of 12c. There is little or no rain but temperatures can drop suddenly without notice.
TRANSPORT
Car is the popular choice from Sydney to Penrith and the drive is less than 55 minutes. The M4 motorway starts at Strathfield and takes you directly to Penrith. A small motorway toll applies. Train travel is readily available from Central station in Sydney. The double decker trains are air-conditioned and services to the Blue Mountains, via Penrith, run on the hour. Greyhound buses offer interstate services to Penrith from Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane
