    France vs. NZ

OH man what a weekend... I gotta gloat sorry to all the Kiwis out there.

I ended up hanging out with the Kiwi team at their hotel and having drinks and chewing the fat with Chalmers, Campbell, Kemble and everyone else till 3am! Got Asotasi to sign my souths shirt and got a photo with him and also got a photo with Fuifui Moimoi.

But what a game. I small shudder has gone through the RL world as the french have shown they definitely are on the up and up. Their forwards matched it with the Kiwis for the best part of 65-70 mins. Their backs still need some work but NZ really showed their ticker sticking it out and not panicking and coming away with a hard fought but solid win in the end. All credit to your boys.

I am really impressed with the French. I really do think that if they work and develop really well through the next year they can cause an upset if Oz, NZ or England are off the ball. Since their game in Leeds they have come a long way. The Challenge Cup and SL season has obviously hardened their players up and their fitness has inproved by at least 10-15 mins. Instead of falling away at the 55 min mark, it happened at the 70 min mark. And paris what a setting to have for a RL match. The crowed their seemed to be a pure RL crowed not many Union wring-ins, a good core of just under 7000 were there. I met one Kiwi guy, Tim, who has been following the team since Wellington and been to all the matches, he was so happy at finally having a win. Top bloke great to see die hard fans like that.

Andrew Chalmers was reall good having a chat about all things NZRL related.

Awesome great work mate. Well done for the photos I will check them out. It's great to hear France are coming along well and vindicates even further the RFL's decision to admit the Catalan Dragons to Super League-it would be interesting to see how much the Welsh would improve if Celtic Crusaders got in and started promoting more Welsh players to their line-up. It will be interesting to see how the France/England mid season game goes next year, It seems the French are a different proposition on their home soil, and with Tony Smith hinting he may give a chance to a few fringe players the French could spring their first defeat on the English in years

    Re: France vs. NZ

I have heard a roumour that they will stop through PNG on their way to the WC for 1-2 warm up games. Again just a rumour. But I hope they get a game or two in befor that against either Scotland or Ireland.
