    Centenary test

    Well,

Take away the lop sided first 20 minutes and it would have been a very close game. NZ outscored AUS in the second half, and defended much better. At World Cup time they will benefit greatly by having Benji Marshall on board.

Sydney siders take a bow too, 35000 people which isnt far off capacity at the SCG at the moment. The best test crowd in Sydney since 1992 they said, great stuff.

    Re: Centenary test

Klein made some absolute doozey mistakes too which potentially denied NZ at least one more try if not two... so could have been much closer.

Australias first try was just freakish, lets see them do that 10 times in a row!

Thank the NRL for their over the web streaming... was able to listen too it over the web... crowd sounded good. Wats the SCG capacity ATM... I heard 38,000 or so?

    Re: Centenary test

Yeah I wasnt impressed with the ref, very inconsistent.

SCG capacity at the moment is around 38000 yes, most people during the week were suggesting 25000 would be the best they would get, so 35000 was a great result. Still, if they played it in QLD they would have got 52000, but it was a traditional match and I thought in the end it was a great night for Rugby League. NZ have come a very long way since the end of last year.

Yep, if bennett and Kerney can steer them now they can get be very good in the WC... I hope they try and get one more game in against someone as a wrm up before the WC... PNG or Fiji maybe?

Also thank you for the 2GB commentators... they are awesome... knowledgeable, exciting and p!$$ funny.

I think NZ can come away quite positive from this match. In the end there wasn't that much in it. They held Australia out for over 1/2 the match and finished strong in the last 20 mins.

The few Australian articles that have come out are the usual one eyed, woopty rubbish. Will like to see what a few of the RL mags have to say on it... a bit more of an unbiased view.

    Re: Centenary test

That game was a cracker. NZ can consider themselfs unlucky to not get even closer, IMO that smith try was double movement and the 1st try was 1 in 1000. It was scary how good australia is, It is the best australian side i have seen ever and NZ did really well to stay with tham after the first 20. When you think about it NZ won the last 60 minutes of the game, If it wasn't for that great aussie start it could have been a whole lot different.

Great game, great crowd, great night for international Rugby League!
