there is no way great britain could come close to australia at the moment and by looking at australia smash new zealand with the worlds 2 best players out and a hell of a lot of youth superstars coming through, they wont be able to for a very long time yet.in regards to mental toughness,no one is as tough as australia,in terms of physical toughness,aussies are simply true blue tough and in terms of skill,dont waste your breath even arguing that anyone in the lions teams can match it with australia.the australian league is outstanding and this shows by the amount of english players who fail to make an impacy over here and the amount of aussie boys who are killing the english comp e.g trent barret.also jamie lyon picking up best in england and cant make aus team here.in the future 3lions dont waste ur english breath.

While you are right about a couple of things, you are way off the mark about the Australian preformance yesterday. You go on about how the Australians were missing their two best players against the Kiwis, well look at what players NZ are missing! Plus we have 50 NRL players to pick from, compared to the 350 Australia has.

Yesterdays effort from the Kiwis was so pathetic that i thought the JNR Kiwis would have done alot better than what the Kiwis did against the Kangaroos. Only 4 of the 11 tries did i think they were good tries. The rest was just the from the most softest defence i have ever seen in a Rugby League Test Match.

 I think a lot of people are blowing up the result, but really it was a well drilled side that cleanned up a below average team. Like the players said on the news tonight, there is no way that Australia is that much better than us. Even if we had 13 players the whole game and a full bench we still would have lost by 40-0, thats how bad we were and thats how smart Australia played.

I would go as far as saying that GB would have put 40+ on us yesterday and France would have beaten us too.

End of the day the Australians played smart hence why they got 58-0, and well done to them but i still think there 52-0 win over is in 2000 was alot better in fact i would say that team would mop up the current Australian team.

Is it the end of International footy?? Hell no! Look at the cricket for example, Australia are always giving us some huge thrashings but we do pick our selfs up for the next game. Another good example was the French Rugby team this year against the All Blacks. The AB's put 70 on them at the start of the year then France came up in the big game when it really mattered at the World Cup.

I think the result of yesterdays Test was one that the GB team was not looking for. They way the Kiwis were talking on the news tonight gives me some hope that they can turn it around. If i was the Coaching stuff i would kick out all the English based players that are has beens from the All Golds and put our best team on the park because boy to we need the game time!!

Now back to the Four Nations topic, if we are so keen on building up competition from France then why are we giving them the scraps for a game? Dont get me wrong its great to see us play them in a match but why do they get to play a match harden Kiwis team when the French have only played PNG and Scotland? I would have thought the Kiwis would like to play them first to iron out the massive problems they have.

Then again if the Kiwis pick up more injuries then the French are in with a big chance!! Also the NZRL Chairman said on the news the other night that the Kiwis are playing a "French Selection" team, so i dont know if that means its a Test match or not?

Ease up a bit, we may have flogged NZ but they have given us some good games over the last few years and will no doubt beat us again one day, aus won't be the best forever. Go easy on the NZ comments aswell, offending people isn't gunna get a point across, i have played with players of NZ heritage over the last couple of years and they are anything but pathetic.

back on four nations, i agree that we need to give france more games against aus, nz and england, not just the one offs. We also need to give Wales, Ireland, Scotland, PNG, Tonga, Fiji and Samoa more frequent games against each other and also some games agaist the big 4.

i can safely say that yes australia will be considered by many to be the best team in the world for basically the rest of our lives.australias style,speed and skill as well as their coachs knowledge of the game and their premier national competition will ensure their world dominance for a long while yet.UP THE AUSSIES.

P.S who cares if NZ have beaten us in the past.they rarely give us good games and would be even weaker if we didnt allow them to have a team in our national competition.

Somehow i doubt it, look at the west indies side of the 80/90s, they were thee best team in the world by a long way and had superior players, look at them now.

Althogh you do make a good point on the NRl being the best comp, australia qld and nsw bring out world class players each year, so does sl but nrl has more. just look at inglis, slater, falou, inu, hayne, williams, marshall, hunt, the list goes on, these are all players that have debuted in the last few years and they are all household names. Also take into account that the NRL is looking to push into South Australia, Western Aus and victoria more, imagine what could happen if all of these states were producing frequent superstars aswell as the current 2.

However the SL and French elite Div have are growing and may one day soon equal the standard of NRL. Also PNG have a strong local league and i here wales has 1 too. Ireland and Scotland have also produced quality players over the years.

About your quote on NZ free loading off the NRL, it seems to me that you want australia to have no competition and beat every team in the world 60/70 nil each game. would you rather see australia flog teams as they did NZ or see close games of int RL and 7 or 8 highly competitive international teams rather than the 3 we have now?

give it a rest mate, you're not phil gould are you?  there is such thing as being a sore winner you know?

with their best line ups, nz and eng can both compete with us, they just dont have the depth at the moment. add in frnace who are improving, as well as tonga, fiji, wales and png and we will have a competitive world cup and future tests.

France are scheduled to join the tri-nations in 2009, which can only be good for the game and obviously the french.

catalans having the majority of the french national team playing together week in week out will also improve them massively.

if the celtic crusaders get into the Super League it will be the same for wales (11 crusaders players were named in the welsh squad for the upcoming qualifiers)

so i think that in 3 or 4 years we'll have a strong and competitive five nations competition...my only worry is that the rest of the world will fall behind :(
