Kiwis Squad Named For Anzac Test

    KIWIS' SQUAD

Roy Asotasi (South Sydney Rabbitohs, captain), Brent Webb (Leeds Rhinos), Sam Perrett (Sydney Roosters), Jason Nightingale (St George Illawarra Dragons), Setaimata Sa (Sydney Roosters), Iosia Soliola (Sydney Roosters), Ben Roberts (Bulldogs), Lance Hohaia (NZ Warriors), Thomas Leuluai (Wigan Warriors), Simon Mannering (NZ Warriors), Sonny Bill Williams (Bulldogs), Jeremy Smith (Melbourne Storm), David Fa'alogo (South Sydney Rabbitohs), Frank Pritchard (Penrith Panthers), David Kidwell (South Sydney Rabbitohs), Dene Halatau (Wests Tigers), Adam Blair (Melbourne Storm), Nathan Cayless (Parramatta Eels), Issac Luke (South Sydney Rabbitohs).

Looking at Stephen Kearney's first squad for 2008 i see a good powerfull forward pack in the likes of Asotasi, Cayless, Blair, Pritchard, Smith, Kidwell, SBW and so on. Things look abit thin when we get to the backs but still o.k. The team looks like its been picked on 2008 form and not reputation which is a step forward from the 2007 shocker. A number of debuts like Nightingale, he's been scoring some good trys for the Dragons, Issac Luke and Setaimata Sa in good form as well. If we look at the Aussie squad and match up player for player i think both forward packs are gonna have a massive clash, as for the backs it will be an interesting evening of football, i'm hoping for the best with fingers crossed. What are your thoughts on the Kiwis v Aus squads ?

Really looking forward to May 9th, 'Get In There Kiwis'

It is a strong squad, I think a big step forward from last year. Its a shame Benji Marshall is injured...again. Marshall and Leuluai would make a good halves combination I think. Isaac Luke thouroughly deserves his spot, he has been in good form of late. It should be a great forwards battle, Kidwell V Mason will be interesting again!.

The only players absent that im wondering about are Krisnan Inu and Greg Eastwood. I havent seen much of Inu this year, but Eastwood has been playing quite well.

Inu is injured. Personally I think someone like Hape should be there instead of Sa. Second Row is the one posistion where NZ has good depth so I think Eastwood has just fallen victim to a few better players in front of him. Nightingale looks to be a classy players, I don't know how anyway could want to put in someone like Tuiaki ahead of him. I guess I'm happy enough with the squad, I hope it gives Australa a real good go. The roumour is that Kidwell will be 18th man.

Just wondering is anyone going to the Centenial Test on Friday May 9th ?

I have never been to a Footy match at the SCG, really looking forward to it. Bay 1 Row E Seat 21 thats where you will find at least one Kiwi flag flying.

    I wish i was sinbin, i wish i was...

There are still heaps of seats left apparently, it's a shame really stdney crowds have been crap this year with few exception. I hope alot of tickets are sold and atleast 30,000 get to the game.
