    Heb:

Glad to hear of your success, could you pass on the secret as I cannot make any sense of the ticketing website.

As it appears I must be totally stupid, step by step instructions would help

    Many thanks  H

Heb what problems are you having? If you are overseas based you can buy tickets now anyway? just go to ticketmaster.com.au for the Australia V England game and ticketek.com.au for the rest. When there search Rugby League under sports and rLWC08 should be the first event that pops up. Then just pick which game you want to order tickets for and follow the prodedure.

    Re: World Cup tickets

My son in law who lives in Melbourne ordered tickets for me on the 8th November and they have been paid for.    They said the tickets would be sent out around the 3rd March 2008.  So far no tickets have been received!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Anyone else having this problem???

I am in Melbourne now and checking the mailbox every day!!!!!!!!!!!

    Re: World Cup tickets

My email confirmations came seperately for each game, although I booked them at the same time.

Each email had a PDF file attached (one file for each ticket).

Once the file is opened it displayed the funky ticket (complete with bar-code and all necessary details)

All i had to do then was print them out. You will need a program called "Acrobat" on your PC in order to view the files!!!!

pretty cool way of sending tickets around the world in my opinion.

Why couldn't the ticket agency offer this service for the ENG vs AUS game in Melbourne??

    P.S.

Anybody got any info on Melbourne. I've got Friday/Sat/Sun there and am looking for things to do.

(I am sorted for Sat afternoon, evening and night. Some footie match is on apparently!!)

Nah sorry druzik, i tries to get sales figures by contacting ticketak and ticketmaster but for some reason that violates a provacy issue. How the hell can telling me how many tickets have sold so far be a privacy issue?

    Re: World Cup tickets

I remember a week after tickets went first on sale there were figures, poor ones at that too, but was wondering since... Oh well.

    Re: World Cup tickets

Have a look at these websites www.visitvictoria.com and www.thatsmelbourne.com.au. Melbourne is full of great bars and pubs, the Kanaroos v England game is being played on the first weekend of the Melbourne Cup carnival, with the Melbourne Cup being run on the Tuesday after the match. There are major horse racing events every 2-3 days including other associated events all over the city. Melbourne will be buzzing at that time, the only problem is that the horse racing carnival attracts tens of thousands of visitors so ensure you have booked accommodation early.

There is a lot to see and do in and around Melbourne to keep you very busy during your stay. Be aware that at that time of year the weather could be a maximum of 10 degrees celsius one day and 30 degrees celsius the next so be prepared as the city is also well known for its four seasons in one day especially at that time of the year.

    Re: World Cup tickets

Agree with that - was caught out on my first visit arriving in shorts and it was snowing! Woke up the following day and it was glorious.

Recommend the MCG tour and definitely the Melbourne Gaol but might be best if you can book the night tour, its really creepy as you go round with just candle -light. I'm desperate to go to the Melbourne Cup though!

    Re: World Cup tickets

    Hello miektuck3r

Tickets to the Melbourne Cup are available at the gate or I believe Ticketmaster (same website as you would have acquired tickets for the Melbourne match) may have them also if you want to save on queuing on the day. You will be attending along with about 110,000 others to give you an idea of the size of the crowd and possible queues. Getting there is easy just grab a train to Flemington Railway Station and the racecourse is right there when you get off.

Saturday 1 November is Derby Day at Flemington, Tuesday 4 November is Melbourne Cup Day, Thursday 6 November is Oaks Day (Ladies Day) at Flemington and there is another big race meeting on the Saturday 8 November but I can't remember what it is called. All of these race meetings will attract between 80,000 and 110,000 people. And yes the atmosphere at all of them is great and they are very crowded events but you can always get a beer or two.
