They really need a helping hand by someone, look to be honest i had no sense until i reached 37, that was my first deviorce.

I did not know about the moi moi situation but i really think robbie farrah should of had some advice about playing for lebanon.

Look at matty peterson, he couldn't wait to represent the states, and when robbie looks back in 10 years time he will probably regret his decision too.

Someone with a nut between their ears needs to take these guys aside and make the choices for them, realistically.

Farrah has played for Lebanon in the past. And again I think what the issue in the end was that he saw what happened to Moi Moi and figured oh sweet I can play for lebanon and then swap over to Aus... and then he had the ban, which was bad in itself... but then he was told if you play for lebanon that he cannot play for Aus which is not what he thought... basicall there is an us and them rule that applies.

Consistency is what is needed. You have that and most aspects of the int game will improve immensely, particularly in the Pac Is as these teams will start to weild very competitive sides.

From what I have seen, the Europeans do not have these issues, their players choose a country and stick with it, through thick and thin.

he wont regret it if he makes the aussie team, which is his goal. he states in this months rugby league world that he would only have played for lebanon if it didnt ruin his chances of playing for his country, australia. we dont need peolpe like him playing for lebanon, and good on him for chasing his goal and not taking the easy option. i hope he realises his goal one day.

No dought he will reach the goal, i have mentioned that if it wasn't for his last game he would have won the dally m player of the year, you just dont win that for turning up,,,  hes a good player and like you said, its only a matter of time.I think there might be a few surprises this year, even lockyer is not gauranteed of getting the top job, if he is not 100% fit, we need all players fit and you have to allow for injuries, this is where australia has the advantage, and nobody has even thought of this yet.

i highly doubt, and really hope that it isnt the case. the samoan team is already bordering on farcical, and this would send it over the edge, as well as a massive kick in the guts for nz. they wouldnt be eligible anyway as they have played for nz in the last 2 years. reni maitua is no chance of playing for samoa, he has knocked them back before as he is australian.

Wayne Bennet hasn't quit, unless you know something i don't. I have heard rumours he is unhappy but nothing official yet. The only rumour i have seen is in RLW that he may be quiting, nothing official though. Besides kearney is a great coach from =what i hear and the players are happy to have him.

Re: Eligability for the World Cup that will suit most situations...

what do you mean bordering on farcical?! the only reason these boys play for the kiwis is because there is on comp to accommadate them, and the world cup is the biggest and baddest stage for them to come together and do their thing, thats is why nigel vagana and co are so passionate about this campaign, Reuben Wiki has put his hand up to assist any was he can and coach Josh Ackland is not dumb he knows what he's doing and I guess its a testament to the way the kiwis have handled things re the coaching staff etc, its not a happy camp! same goes with the tongan team and re you eligility issues, bear in my mind fuifui moimoi and tuiaki were helping the tongan cause only ten months prior before to the kiwi tour?!

Re: Eligability for the World Cup that will suit most situations...

Take one thing into consideration also, samoa have to have 6 players from the native comp in their WC squad, so only 18 of the possible team you siad could play anyway, besides in your 'dream team' you had vagana at half back when samoa 2 very decent halfs running around that you didnt even put in the side, lagi setu and setimata sa are the two im talking about. Also i don't think Wiki will be doing much to help samoa as he has signed a coaching role with NZ and after all samoa are opposition in the WC.

Re: Eligability for the World Cup that will suit most situations...

I beg to differ, i have seen sa play 5/8 for the roosters, also i have only ever seen setu play hooker but im pretty sure he has played some halfes. In reply Nigel Vagana is not a half and neither is reni maitua. Vagana is a centre and i dont think he has the organisational skills or kicking game ot be halfback and maitua is best suited to lock. I think Sa and Setu would be a better halfs combo then vagana and maitua.

Re: Eligability for the World Cup that will suit most situations...

your right, vagana and maitua will never be in the halves, it just sounds good lol. Sa can play five eight I agree, samoa had a good halfback in the qualifyers from the islands that im sure will be well looked after by the forward pack,

Re: Eligability for the World Cup that will suit most situations...

Yeh hopefully a few young samoan natives can get in the side. Atleast 6 need to be in the 24 or 25 man squad. As you said there does seem to be a bit of a gap at halfback so hopefully a good young kid will fill in the spot. Samoa will need to develop new talent if they ever hope to keep a side with the amount of talent this one will have, lets face it, the vaganas, the puletuas, they are all getting near the end of their careers and it would be good if some talented young samoan native players could be nurtured by the team.
