Does any one know about whats going to happen in the opening ceremony?

Which team do you think will be the favourite?

Australia will be favorites by far i'd say. If NZ can spring an upset in the anzac test well that would make things interesting, still though australia will be favorites. As for whats happening i think it will just be a small parade of most of the teams (france, scotland might not be there since they have to play a game the same day).

For the record NZ won against france, although it was close.

They didn't lose to france, they pulled the rabbit out of the hat in last 10 mins to win. Yes last year was a bad tour for them, butu we havnt seen them play this year yeat so we can't say the form slup is still there.

Quite Right, whos to say they won't come out in the anzac test and beat the aussies, it's happened before and would be great for the WC since it would spark NZ's revival and give them a real good chance of winning the WC. Hopefully with kearney and beenet at the helm they will produce significantly better results, also they should have close to a full strength team, Marshall ad Williams have tended not to play for the kiwis in the off-season lately and recover frominjuries instead. So with those 2 plus a solid forward pack and skillful backs like webb, inu etc. they should be a real force and wil;l require some stopping.

Re: Australia vs. New Zealand - Opening Ceremony

You know what i am looking forward to seeing, the games played around the country areas, like rockky and townsville central coast and canberra,

Just been reading what that guy on the front said about the game being taken back to country areas? Tell you something, this world cup is very well thought out by the way the games have been spread around, just think in a hundred years time, someone will be looking on a history site and say gee whiz, they played the games there, I think they really need to keep this sort of thing going, it gets telecast to everyone anyway, and what a boon for the outback people, Just imagine someone saying to there son one day, oh yer i seen him play in the world cup at rockky, i was there.? Good on them?

I still think a game should have been at outback NSW, Parkes/Bathurst area or Wagga. Sooo many great players have come from there... RL amd and on the RL/RU/AFL battle front lines. Parkes has hosted a WC game before too.

Re: Australia vs. New Zealand - Opening Ceremony

Yeh would have been nice to see a game in outback NSW, i woulkd have liked to have 1 in perth aswell, never been there myself but i hear its a great city, also im heading to melbourne for the first time this year to see the AUS V ENG game, well technically i have been there once but all i did was get off a plane and onto a bus and drove to Mt Hotham.

Great to see one in Rocky! i have tickets to the game and can't wait, will be great to see international RL played at the same place i have played countless games myself. Come October, November the town of Rocky will be buzzing. What is interesting though is that i havn't seen any local advertising for it, no radio ads, no tv ads, no newspaper ads, nothing. I would have though it was the biggest event to come to rocky along with a silverchair/powderfinger concert last year, so hopefully advertising picks up soon. In saying this the game has already nearly sold out!

Like you say oikee i will be able to tell stories about it my whole life, that and the time i played against David Taylor and hopefully in the next couple years players i played with last year will make a name for themselfs. Then i can say i played with NRL/ESL players.
