Someone on totalrl.com messageboards tonight is reporting that ticketek have already sold out category A tickets for the Final in Brisbane. I hope that is not the case but if it is then I feel gutted with the whole affair.
I am so disappointed with the RFL, who haven't even had the decency to reply to any e-mails and I also sent a letter for Mr Richard Lewis on the subject and again not even the courtesy of a reply and he is the Deputy Chairman of the RL International Federation!!!!
If they were taking the matter up on behalf of UK fans it would be nice to know but it seems that they couldn't care less so I don't think I'll be buying anymore tickets for the matches here either. They can remove me from their mailing list.
Mate, it's a shame that the RLF (and, for that matter, the ARL)'s poor handling of this had detered you from going to the matches that you wanted to.
I feel like they are both re-learning how to stage such an event after the last WC, and failing in many aspects. I would have been quite happy to wait another couple months or so for tickets if the arrangements had been better. I hope that the ticketing arrangements don't deter too many people coming to support their countries. I was looking forward to finding that the people seated behind me were from Scotland or PNG or something. It would be nice to have some friendly rivalry. Besides, it's not as fun to win if there's no one to beat. lol.
Also, I very surprised to hear that tickets have sold so quickly here. I would be inclined to check the sources for that. The only advertisement for the WC I've seen are when it was mentioned by commentators during the NRL finals series. Really, this could have been a lot better than it is.
Hi, just wanted to say that it appears Kieth may be right. I purchased tickets on the 10/11/07 through tickettek on the net for the semis and grandfinal in Brisbane and found that the Reserve A tickets had all bee sold for the Grandfinal!!! Considering they had not been on sale for long, and as others have said "ticket sales have not been well publicised in Aus", I was surprised the Reserve A tickets for the grandfinal were sold out!
I did wonder if they may have put aside a percenatge of the Reserve A's for international visitors. I hope this is the case as it would not be beneficial to have visitors come such a long way and start their time off in Australia feeling bitter and cheated (as I would feel if in their position).
Oh, by the way...I was also unable to get reserve A tickets for the Brisbane semis on the 15/11/08...they too had been sold out!!! So it is Reserve B for my family for both events and as I was too scared I would miss decent tickets....I did not reguest 'unlicensed'....I am now hoping we will not surrounded by intoxicated yobbos who could no doubt ruin this experience for my family!!!
