Cedar, what is so difficult to comprehend about my last message.

You fail to discern its essence because you still meander in the “crushing loss” (Quote from match report) of your team.

I thought that it was cheap that you offered congratulations to the Samoans yet in the same breath offered up a bevy of fictional excuses.

That is plain bad sportsmanship yet you brought it upon yourself with your childish bravado in promoting a team full of passion yet devoid of skills and acumen.

You talked up a team of “Park- ballers” who could not actualize the hopes as embraced by you.

Instead of looking at the long term picture of how the Lebanese can fit into the landscape of international league you launch a rabid and futile attack on the teams that got the job done on the field rather than its supporters seeking solace through the espousing of rhetoric in these forums

You reply of “huh?”- demonstrates further your ignorance and your pathetic attempts to justify your contemptible knowledge of the league game.

Take pride in what you put in these pages and if your intellect does not afford you the opportunity to reply in kind then go see when the next game of Lebanese basketball will be shown on Sky Sports.

Apologies to all if i worded it wrong but I am not saying that Samoa's players are SUPERIOR to other nations- moreseo that you cannot blame them for having a few NRL/ESL based players and the Cedars having 'Park football' players. It's the nature of the game and as we see in teams like Aus, Nz and Eng- ALL players are Proffessional players so it is up to the 2nd tier nations to have players make there mark in the Top Grade.

I hope that more Lebanese players receive proffessional contracts because as shown in star players like Farrah, El Masri, Nadaira and  former players like Benny Elias and Rod Silva - they are a talented bunch of footballers. It's just a matter of the current Cedar players making that next step UP.

Re: Lebanon's Goal kicking was just shocking... Congrats Samoa

You feign innocence and replicate intelligence–you post in a public forum then your comments whether directed at any one person/group are open to public scrutiny. I maintain that your opinions that began this thread are pathetic and predicated on an inane belief that your cedars amount to something in the rugby league world.

Save your ill advised passion for Titanic reruns-because only on the big screen will the Lebanese rugby team ever amount to anything. That is my opinion so if you don like that then stiff but get back I will engage you as long as you have the courage to put up

You menial existence leads you to accuse me of drug taking and you probably think that I am underemployed and unemployed in terms of vocation. Never touch drugs and as for my vocation it does indeed afford me the luxury to answer little people like you have an inferiority complex and feel threatened when people challenge them

I believe in honest banter and constructive dialogue but I think you are being pretentious and brittle when someone disagrees with you. Xenophobic people like you who are zealous for the cause cannot see past the limitations of their kind or in this case their team. Yet still you are relentless in pointing out that it was the referee and the powers that be who colluded to steer Lebanon away from the World Cup, pathetic logic worthy of a cretin.

I agree with a lot of what Marv says when he states that what you put on this site is an indication of your thought processes or lack of.

Probably the thing that I want most is for you to openly admit that you acknowledged that your team lost fair and square.

I agree no more name calling

Re: Lebanon's Goal kicking was just shocking... Congrats Samoa

Marv- Good point and I concur-.

The point of these forums is not to delve into malicious name calling that borders on the idiotic and has nothing to do with rugby league. I commend you for your tolerance and foresight in not engaging too much with those perpetuating those odious claims.

The point that riled me so badly with Cedar was the persistent promoting of a misplaced cause. To have pride in the Lebnense team is not a fault yet the incessant and fervent reminders of the Lebanese team, the crowds, the pride and passion of the jersey, the domestic completion, their support for the game in Australia, the Leb fighters and how hard they hit- was just  too much!!!

The veiled references to the influenced of the New Zealand players in the Samoan team yet ironically you failed to see your own Australian laced team. Where was the domestic competition that you revered and their finished products?

When you deify these things and believe that somehow they are infallible then when things go awry people will seize the opportunity to demonstrate how little your grasp of league is and all transfer their resentment at all the things that you advanced as affirming  about the Lebanese cause. Caucasians, Africans, Americans, Polynesians, Anglo Saxons etc... all embrace similar values and passion for their teams and not just Lebanese people but most show some notion  of modesty .

Intangible like the things noted above were never going to be factors in determining the outcome of the game especially as the game was played at a neutral venue.

Thankfully for this forum the game is over and so are the pipe dreams of Cedar. I hope for your own sake that when the next world cup is mooted you would demonstrate humbleness, meekness and even be contrite when faced with defeat.

As I stated in my earlier posting the brash talking takes place after the game and that is the sole domain of the victor whist the vanquished who had been so conceited and supercilious is left to seek succor elsewhere

    Thank you,

LC's cause may have been misplaced, but his faith in his team should be commended, a supporter to the end, he did not complain, unlike others, when certain obstacles were in the path of his nation, and looked for hope in situations where there was little.

I can only speak for myself when i say that often the emotions of the game get the better of us.

Many a defeat by our Australian foes have left me searching for that call from the ref, that misplaced pass or the missed conversion without, as you correctly state, offering the hand of congratulaitions to the victor. No amount of complaining will make any difference.

perhaps as a man of the cloth you are able to remain unperturbed even when feeling your most despondant, but not everyone is infallible.

Re: Lebanon's Goal kicking was just shocking... Congrats Samoa

I just spoke to 1 of the Lebanese players and he told me players that were not available that would have played had they made the cup were

R.Farrah then again he said he wasn't going to.

    Elmasri

    Jarrod Saffy

    Sam Ismonger

    Charlie Farrah

Tim and Joe Mana-Apparently 1 of them was the Australian schoolboys captain.

    Chris Sabb

    and a couple of more

he said that Saffy and Ismonger just changed there mind and didnt want to play anymore.  Real shame.

Re: Lebanon's Goal kicking was just shocking... Congrats Samoa

well the spineless gets SHOULD have raised their hands for the qualifiers then they probably WOULD have been in the finals next year

I've got no time for these players who let other 'less talented' blokes do all the hard slog then step in when it's the big stage leaving the players who got the team there in the first place sat at home watching it on tv

    BLOODY DISGRACE!!

Which El Masri? Hazem could not play for them because of his Origin selections last year and this year (he played City and NSW). However his brother/cousin (nor sure which it is) could have.

Yeah it is, they probably have the same attitude as Farrah, play a token match in hope of sucuring the Aussie squad. Then have the tables turned on him.

It is a bloody disgrace... but it just shows that with the RLIF's inept ability to enforce rules and provide decent games this is what you get.
