dogged:
here you are jim you simpleton//// ...suck on this...why did i even bother!!...you could have easily got this yourself!...and if you can't read this get somebody esle to read it for you....
http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,22516401-5012431,00.html
you will notice that the NRL can't even catch the AFL despite the massive lift it got from the Melbourne base watching the Storm and also being scheduled at night (compared to AFL at 2pm on a Saturday)....in years that the Storm are not in the GF the NRL is even further behind...and when the NRL was a daytime game further behind again////...RLeague is not within a bulls roar mate...get over it...and this is consistent with why your game gets paid much less...less viewers!! period...no further explaining to do...no conspiracy theories or excuses....and no lies....just get over it...or don't get over it and just remain deluded...who cares ...as long as it's true for you that's all that matters i guess
I'm not going to squable any more....facts are facts...the NRL is far behind...they know it even if some of their moronic supporters like you may not.....the nRL itself knows it
dogged,
You're using selective information to support your agenda. No one will take you seriously until your stance is objective. An objective stance would entail an admission that the AFL's TV ratings on Fox Sports are mediocre and embarrassing.
The AFL's Grand Final is watched by lots of people, including the millions of Australians who aren't big time fans of Australian Rules Football. The pre-game entertainment usually involves a lot of profiles and interviews of high profile women who are in the stands or in the corporate suites. The high profile women are dressed flamboyantly. Regular women love to tune in and see how the high profile women at the AFL are dressed. Women get off on envying (and copying) high profile women. It's why so many of them take an interest in the telecast of the Melbourne Cup. (You don't actually think that the women who dress up for it are fans of horse racing, do you?)
The NRL doesn't focus on showing high profile women who dress in a ridiculously flamboyant style. Instead, it focuses on the match and the players. It's one of the reasons behind my love for the game. Rugby league is the game that the working-class Australian can enjoy -- it's for men, women and children.
The NRL doesn't try to appeal to the pretentious, arrogant snobs, either. The AFL Grand Final is all about appealing to pretentious sluts and arrogant old men who think they're in the same class as the aristocracy. The southern states seem to be filled with pretentious, overly annoying wankers who think they're part of the aristocracy. (Does the AwFuL's administration seriously think that the people of New South Wales and Queensland will mix arrogant, narrow-minded southerners who refer to us as "rednecks"?)
In conclusion, the AFL's Grand Final might be the highest rating event of the year, but doesn't negate the fact that the NRL's Premiership Rounds tend to draw higher TV ratings than the ones from the AFL
ps. Learn how to follow a logical sequence. Learn that a argument's conclusion needs to be related to its premisses. Showing a couple of premisses and then stating a conclusion that isn't related to them does not pass over as a legitimate argument. On the contrary, it is known as a "logical fallacy".

Would it be possible for the likes of St Helens for instance to not be given a new franchise & say Salford, Celtics & Toulose all be given one?

Get them in as soon as possible, the other codes are not hanging around waiting for the grass to grow, take for instance what we are looking at here in oz,
Fact, the aussie rules are expanding another 2 teams, and also now want a world cup 2018,
Fact , the A-league soccer is now talking about another 4 teams in their expansion plans as soon as possible, with the added bonus of having becks visit again,
Fact, the Rugby union is expanding into Japan and Dubai, with new teams on their agenda,
Unknown fact, will rugby league expand into new terriortory, or are we going to see the game get mussled by the other codes, and all because we have brainless twits running the show, either expand and be heard or forget about the future of league, it will be swamped by the other codes.
Now having said this, we all love league and it should be fine, but if you think we can just do nothing to expand, then dont expect the people to knock on the door and say,, hey we love league, we have to keep pushing the message. Expand into Wales and France, now while you have the chance.
Now thinking about what we are about to expect here in oz, i really dont think that we can handle to much expansion, these clubs might get a nasty shock from all the expansion going on, yes it looks fine on paper, but we dont watch alot of aussie rules, we dont even watch alot of the english soccer, and we dont watch much union, who's going to support all this expansion?
League just needs to expand super league, apart from that the game just needs to get on with it here in oz, the competition is great and we have lots of support from t/v veiwers, why rock the boat with expansion until we see where the other mobs end up. We could have another 2 teams, and by 2012- 2015, we probably will, but at the moment i can sit back and enjoy 2 comps, Super league and N.R.L and enjoy the contest. The games are close and anyone can beat anyone, this makes for entertaining veiwing.
What these other codes dont realise is that without a set-up like the coast have done, in other words, being competitive from day 1, you will be finished before you start. And league has learnt all the problems of expanding, we have been there, done that.
John Dixon the coach of the crusaders is a top coach, with the right pool talent the team should be a instant success, and another team in france will also be a success because then the compitition with the dragons will become intense. Big Brother Little Brother thoery, if you dont expand into these areas, you then will always live with the M62 corridor tag, and you lose your golden opportunity.
Aussie rules are not worried about league, they are worried about soccer, they want more teams in melbourne, and this will disrupt all there plans. They will see a decline in memberships when the a-league takes hold.

Well I think by the sounds of things the best we can hope for is Toulouse "OR" Celtic to get in next year. IMO it's a toss up, I was leaning towards toulouse but i'm starting to favour celtic again, as long as they move to cardiff. The reason for this is the french game can still grow under 1 club and wales will also grow as well once we have CC in SL. Come 2012 put toulouse in their then sit back and watch. On the flip side someone could argue that Millennium Magic is already growing the game in wales, maybe put toulouse in their now and wait for 2012 for CC, by then hopefully Millenium Magic crowds shopuld be nearly capacity (75,000). It's so hard to decide really, i guess I'll be happy whichever gets in, if both great but i doubt it will happen. Also don't discount salford as a good inclusion, having a team in the manchester area is essential IMO.
OK changing topic a bit here, apparently the AMNRL is looking to expand to the west coast in the future and have a few big targets, Chicago is their first choice so hopefully that will go ahead, would love nothing more than to see a strong AMNRL. The day any AMNRL club can get 10,000 to their games is the day the WC is chosen for america. Just imagone the the WC final being played at this bad-boy filled to the rafters...

The AFL already has a world cup, NZ are the current champions. I think we can worry too much what some other sports are doing and not focus enough on ourselves. I don't think expansion from other sports is as greater threat as everyone makes out. I can't see the AFL or the A-League actually having a succesful expansion into league territory.

WHAT THE??? where is the roof, it must not rain in that city, does look impressive though? One day we will see the game played in USA ,
Don't know, still though it's a great looking stadium, the day a league game is played there I will be there. Let's hope so yes, let's hope the AMNRL crowds can see a rise this year after the australia day challenge. The Jacksonville Axemen should atleast, surely they would have got alot of coverage out of the day and hopefully they can get crowds of 1,000 to 2,000 this season.

Anyone read the rugby league week , i see solomona is going to have a shot at the world heavy weight championship, now that would bring league some more publicity if he could win that. He was a awesome player.
Think you mean soloman haumono, Would be great if he could bring some coverage to league with a big fight, that's what mundine should be doing right now, instead he's fighting soloman again, no offense to soloman but Mundine should do it easy, If Mundine want's to only fight aussies he should fight Sakio Bika (technically from cameroon, lived in australia 8 years now). Bika beat soloman pretty convincingly when they last fought and won the contender series. Anyway what mundine should do is go and fight a high profile american.
Anyone would think this was a boxing forum... lol

Thought you said you were leaving dogged.
Believe what you want to believe dogged but why should we care? I'm not sure whether GC or West Sudney AFL teams will be sucessful, frankly i don't care, It's not going to stop me from watching RL or anyone else for that matter. I believe the NRL will have a team in WA by 2012 and a welsh team in ESL come 2009.Still I don't go around looking for AFL forums were AFL fans are talking expansion and tell them why i think it won't work and why RL will work.
Seriously be a man of your word and leave. If sombody says something bad about AFL don't come back and whinge, I'm sure there is heaps of bad sh*t said about league on Union and AFL forums but I don't go poking around to find it because at tthe end of the day it's only somebody's opinion.

I am glad you are still around dogged, we can put your thoery to the test this week-end, The test match is on friday night with coverage to melbourne , your lot aussie rules have their match on saturday night , being beamed live to all states.
Dallymessenger, you can get the t/v veiwing results for both fixtures and we can see the results, head to head , and dogged, you have no way out of this result. You must abide by the decision of the public. This will be the best result to have because all the states are involved.
You cant hide from this week-end dogged, and we also cant deny the results, let the best game win.

How many Queenslanders and New South Welshman attend the home matches of the Lions and Swans? A lot of the fans who go to the games in Brisbane and Sydney are Victorians who moved to the northern states.
Are there are as many Queenslanders and New South Welshman living in Victoria as there are Victorians living in Queensland and New South Wales? If not, then this would explain why the Storm's fanbase isn't as large as the fanbasees fromt the Lions and Swans.
The Swans and the Lions are ten or more years older than the Storm. That's ten or more years of promotion. A 20-year-old man who was raised in Brisbane and/or Sydney will have been able to support a home-based AFL team since he first learned how to walk . A 20-year-old Melbournian boy didn't have the chance to support a home-based NRL team until he was 10.
Therefore, how come dogged is comparing the 20+ year history of the Lions and Swans with the 10 year history of the Storm? Shouldn't he compare the Storm with the Lions and Swans as they were after 10 years in the AFL competition?
ps. I raised this point around a week or two ago, but dogged failed to acknowledge it; which proves he has habit of sidestepping points that don't support his agenda. The reason I say "habit" is because he has sidestepped a few of my points. For example, he dodged my question about the demise of Australian Rules Football in Papua New Guinea. We ought to keep a record of EVERY point that he has sidestepped, and show it to him when he brings up something new. Who knows, it might be enough to get him to leave the board!
