Interesting that now the scots want in on the act...This could become more of a travelling road show each year with the MM going to Scotland, Wales England and Ireland every year... if using MM as expansion of RL is the idea then you could have something like

    England - Twickenham Stadium

    Wales - Millenium Stadium

    Scotland - Murrayfield Stadium

    Ireland - Croke Park

    France -  Parc de Princess

I like the 0 arrests bit. That is a good stat to have!

    Re: Millennium Magic

Murrayfield magic? It would be great yes but I don't want them to pull out of Wales just yet. Maybe it could become a travelling show like you say druzik but i fear all the good work would have worn off come the next time they get it. Maybe 2 a year is the solution, England and Wales, France and Scotland, Ireland and Germany/Italy/Russia??? Not sure, maybe 3 a year but that is getting a bit much maybe. If it were 3 a year it could be England, Wales, Scotland, then Ireland, Germany, France. I really don't know. I say keep it in Wales for now and maybe take it to 2 a year soon but only do Ireland, Scotland, France and Wales. England and other euro countries will have to have something else arranged if they want in.

    Re: Millennium Magic

If Celtic get in they have to have it in Cardiff again, that has to get the locals in.

Apparently there was Zero promotion by cardiff and Wales tourism for this anywhere in the city or the country. If thats the attitude they take and Scotland offer something better then why not take it.

Hotels were exceedingly over charging and pubs were not even aware of the MM and were serverley understaffed and stocked... there is a thread on TRL with people going on about this. Many there would be happy with Murrayfield.

    Re: Millennium Magic

OK, got me thinking, how many welshman would there have been out of the 63,000? There were probably only 40,000 people that actually went (some counted twice). Murrayfield Magic would be great aswell but Iw ould still love for it to persist in Cardiff. I wouldn't be against 2 a year, Murrayfield and Millenium Magic. If Celtic get in (which I'm convinced they should be over Toulouse after reading an article in RLW) than they have to keep millenium magic up for atleast a few years. If Murrayfield Magic goes ahead aswell or instead of Millenium Scotland should have team in the NL system to take advantage of the popularity gained. The problem (or blessing, i'm not sure) is england is surrounded by so many big countries that would have interests in hosting the event, whilst australia has NZ and PNG who biggest stadium is 16,000. The sooner we have 3 pro comps the better, it may be a long time but we should one day. USA would be great for a pro tournament as it gives RL 3 strong bases to build on, if the AMNRL was pro they could be taking games to Mexico and Canada, but there is a long way to go for that to happen.

    What a weekend!

Great People, Great teams. We had just a fantastic time.

I think this video can sum it up on one. Fans from all teams stood round, singing and having a laugh. No trouble, just a great weekend!

Great to hear and see... what do you think about this Murrayfield idea? Should it stay at Millenium or would a move be better?

    Re: Millennium Magic

Red Vee, I dont know if you ever read my conspiricy thoery about rugby league in america, but i can tell you without a lie that this is what is happening with the MM in wales, like druzik has found out the publicity for this game in wales was vertually non-existent. Now if you think about this and the fact that wales is dominated by union, only then will you see that trying to promote the game in wales is like trying to convert catholics to muslim.

If you change the event to another stadium will just look like you are admitting defeat. Most of your supporters come from the league areas and what you need to do is just keep doing what you are doing, holding the event at this stadium and throwing crowd figues in the welsh faces, each time the event grows you highlight this. And by adding the celtic crusaders into the super league, i have no dough that the event will grow.

Once you have firmly implanted this event into your calender, and i have no dought that everyone who goes loves this event, "by the feedback you get on rugbyleague BBC" then you can sell it to other stadiums. Please send the message to other blogs and dont let the people who want to see it fail "win".

Ireland And Scotland are not the problem, they have a team in the world cup, you just need to be persistent with wales and let them know you are they to stay, right in amounst there union dominated ranks. Dont forget that the hoteliers are probably trying to price you out of the city, they cannot keep you out , but they will try. League just needs to grind away at what we do best, and that is put on a good game and show, the rewards will follow if we dont think about what they try to do to prevent the game from growing.

Once the people from london start to attend the event it will change the outlook of the event. Patience, and the game has done this for a hundred more years, whats another 20 going to hurt. I can see no brick walls in 20 years time.

I would say 100% keep it at Cardiff

As well as the rugby, what really made the weekend for me was going out and about the bars, mingling with all the other fans pre and post match. As you can see from my Video it was such a laugh and it was just great chattting with other like minded fans.

This is what makes Cardiff so special, as the stadium is bang in the middle of the City Center with everything around it. Murreyfield on the other hand is well out of the City Center. This would just ruin it and it wouldn't be the same.

Very true, but I did see a lot of Union Shirts on parade in and around the stadium so it did gain some interest. I understand what you are saying, but there is a following of League in South Wales which we need to build on, i.e., keep MM in Cardiff.

The irony of this is that Wales has a much bigger League following than Ireland or Scotland, another reason to keep MM there

Very true, last year we paid £75 a night, this year it was £100 and next year its going to be £110!

    Re: Millennium Magic

    Fair enough RV, interesting comments.

I guess at least for several more years have it at Cardiff, I am hoping to get out to it next year, this year ended up badly timed with family stuff.

The hotel prices are a bit stiff arent they!
