Red Vee, I dont know if you ever read my conspiricy thoery about rugby league in america, but i can tell you without a lie that this is what is happening with the MM in wales, like druzik has found out the publicity for this game in wales was vertually non-existent. Now if you think about this and the fact that wales is dominated by union, only then will you see that trying to promote the game in wales is like trying to convert catholics to muslim.
If you change the event to another stadium will just look like you are admitting defeat. Most of your supporters come from the league areas and what you need to do is just keep doing what you are doing, holding the event at this stadium and throwing crowd figues in the welsh faces, each time the event grows you highlight this. And by adding the celtic crusaders into the super league, i have no dough that the event will grow.
Once you have firmly implanted this event into your calender, and i have no dought that everyone who goes loves this event, "by the feedback you get on rugbyleague BBC" then you can sell it to other stadiums. Please send the message to other blogs and dont let the people who want to see it fail "win".
Ireland And Scotland are not the problem, they have a team in the world cup, you just need to be persistent with wales and let them know you are they to stay, right in amounst there union dominated ranks. Dont forget that the hoteliers are probably trying to price you out of the city, they cannot keep you out , but they will try. League just needs to grind away at what we do best, and that is put on a good game and show, the rewards will follow if we dont think about what they try to do to prevent the game from growing.
Once the people from london start to attend the event it will change the outlook of the event. Patience, and the game has done this for a hundred more years, whats another 20 going to hurt. I can see no brick walls in 20 years time.
