Re: Tickets for non-Aussies - some developments?
QLDer's are idiots. They are 20 years behind the rest of the world and win one State of Origin and you start getting the old 'we did it for each other' and QLD pride crap. I wonder if they remember when we beat them 56-16? 'QLD Pride'.......pffffft!
By the way, go the mighty Kangaroos! If we don't win the RLWC 2008 then I'll brave a miserably cold winter in Pommyland.

The Tyke:I am a Tyke from West Yorkshire.
I am only being honest. It was very intimidating at Lang Park, a situation I would not want to be in again. Bloody frightening.
The Aussies are great outside the ground having a beer, but deep down HATE the poms.....
I went to the second test in Melbourne and there were no problems at all
Tykeristic.........Where are you from ?
LOL... mate they are not aussies... just queenslanders. They hate anything with blue on the shirt! :)

Haha, funniest thing i have read in awhile. I am proud to say that i am a Queenslander, and Australian. And hmm, win one origin hey.. i seem to remember we've won the last few :P
And as for QLD Pride, you have no idea mate, never will.
Bring on Lang Park, we love bashing the Blues here, also love beating the Poms and the Kiwis as well...
Get over yourself, but what did i expect from a Blues 'idiot'... lol
C'mon Aussie, C'mon, C'mon..

ahah good work Kangaroos1908, although i seem to recall qld have won the last 2 series, not NSW and well we have the 3 best players in the world thurtson lockyer and smith, what does NSW have? a few big usless fowards and a crap halfs combo. as for us being idiots, i've been to sydney at grand final time in 2005 tigers V cowboys and i didn't mind the place, only problem was it was full of New South Welshman!!! As for the QLD pride, whats wrong with having pride in your state, if your players had pride in their state maybe they'd be willing to fight for a game instead of whinging and giving up when things don't go their way.
And if the kangaroos win the WC you can thank the 10+ Queensland players representing. I mean Lockyer, Thurston, Smith, Hunt, Hodges, Inglis, Civoniceva and Price will all be there plus Johnson, Crocker, Webb, Slater and Bowen will all be in the mix for the side. so go Queens... i mean kangaroos.

Remember, QLD is the state that doesn't switch to daylight saving becasue the farmers are scared the cows will get confused. ;)

Re: Tickets for non-Aussies - some developments?
Great to provoke some debate.
That night at Lang Park was "Horrible" And I have watched Leeds United all over Europe in intinidating atmospheres ! (Including Istanbul)
I have always thought the game of Rugby League was a lot more civilised. but obviously the Queenslanders think different ??
Unfortunately I will not be on "Smiley Howes" trip next year being ripped off, and I am very disappointed in the Australian Rugby League for their ticketing arrangements.
I reckon with 5 A$ to the pound we should all have a great time.

Well sorry you feel that way bout QLDers mate. We are not all like this, however in QLD and all over the world there are a**holes and Wan*ers. I went to a gf in 2005 in cowboys gear and my presence wasn't very welcome amongst the NSW public, i must have been told f*ck off back to QLD atleast 20 times and F*ck The QLDers. So my point is NSW give as good as they get. I went to SOO just last year and was seated behind several NSW supporters and one of them tried to fight me because my flag brushed him. And they spent the whole game whinging about the ref and how they were being robbed and that was the game when we beat NSW 30-6 or something like that and we beat them comprehensively but they still seemed to think they were robbed!!!

LOL! Gold. We really do need emiticons on this site!
Yes NSW fans do give as good as they get, its one of the things that makes Origin a special sxperience in Oz. Its unfortunate that it never tranfers itself to the international arena. I dream of the day when telstra will be sold out for a GB v Oz game, but I don't think that will happen any time soon.

Re: Tickets for non-Aussies - some developments?
Someone on totalrl.com messageboards tonight is reporting that ticketek have already sold out category A tickets for the Final in Brisbane. I hope that is not the case but if it is then I feel gutted with the whole affair.
I am so disappointed with the RFL, who haven't even had the decency to reply to any e-mails and I also sent a letter for Mr Richard Lewis on the subject and again not even the courtesy of a reply and he is the Deputy Chairman of the RL International Federation!!!!
If they were taking the matter up on behalf of UK fans it would be nice to know but it seems that they couldn't care less so I don't think I'll be buying anymore tickets for the matches here either. They can remove me from their mailing list.

Mate, it's a shame that the RLF (and, for that matter, the ARL)'s poor handling of this had detered you from going to the matches that you wanted to.
I feel like they are both re-learning how to stage such an event after the last WC, and failing in many aspects. I would have been quite happy to wait another couple months or so for tickets if the arrangements had been better. I hope that the ticketing arrangements don't deter too many people coming to support their countries. I was looking forward to finding that the people seated behind me were from Scotland or PNG or something. It would be nice to have some friendly rivalry. Besides, it's not as fun to win if there's no one to beat. lol.
Also, I very surprised to hear that tickets have sold so quickly here. I would be inclined to check the sources for that. The only advertisement for the WC I've seen are when it was mentioned by commentators during the NRL finals series. Really, this could have been a lot better than it is.

Yes, but I have also heard that it was just the "current allocation" or something and that some tickets have been held back for next year when the OS bookings are released. I was under the impression this was standard practice at most sporting events.
Either way though, sounds like there is interest for the RLWC. Man those QLD'rs, you only need to sneaze the words Rugby League and they all appear at the ground. Have to love em for that!

If that is the case druzik then why don't the Organising Committee reply to peoples e-mails telling them of this???

Haha that's true.. got my Final tickets the other day..Took a bit of work..but then again, i am used to buying Origin tickets.. and that's a feat unto itself. Those tickets sell like hotcakes up here.
I also heard that an allocation was put aside for the O/S contingent. That's why it's saying that the Premium tickets allocation has been exhausted.
C'mon Aussie, C'mon, C'mon..
