The argentina domestic comp starts in november and is a 9's tournie and the italian one almost didnt happen because one of the teams mangers passed away and the team decided not to play out of respect. So it was only two teams in the end. Germany will have a domestic comp next year as well and with the Czechs now having a full time development officer I suspect they'll have something up and running soon too.

any one heard whet the Greek domestic comp results were? Also Malta's?

Great to hear RL is developing well across the world.

i really hope the RLIF take on board the AUS A idea. I think the four nations should be played ever 2 years, the year afer and before the WC. The vacant year NZL, AUS, ENG & FRA should tour the world. say France and England go to the pacifics, Aus and NZ go to the UK noting england will be away touring. Whilst the A sides should be touring all of these years.

come on jim the RLIF aren't going to take that one up.....makes too much sense!!

by the way only 7,000 at the centenary game in Warrington last night...shame on the RFL and shame on the stay away supporters!!

    doubt it zabs!

i'm from wigan, 10 mins away from warrington and i personally can count the number of perople i know who watched the RUWC final on one hand.

plus the game kicked off 2 hours before the RUWC final.-

plus the RFL provided a giant screen so that fans could watch the RUWC after the centenary game

and from what i've been told less than a hundred people stayed behind to watch the yawnion final

nice, original name you've got though ;)

    Re: Four Nations

yeh the crowd was dissapointing, i hope the figures increase for the GB and france games.

How boring was the WC final? I mean can someone tell me when was the last time there were no tries scored in a RL game, let alone a final!!! I mean that sport always seems to have 60-70-80-90-100 to *** all scores or tight games with only 1 or 2 tries. i would rather have watched the Ireland V russia qualifiying game.

Yeh your right about the A side tours, they will probably never happen, RLIF will make sure of that. Although we can hope.

Does anyone think ant RLIF staff members look at forums like this and note the good ideas?

    Re: Four Nations

The last tryless game in the NSWRL was the 1986 final between Parra and Cantebury, ended 4-2 to Parra. The one and only 0-0 game in the NSWRL was also the doggies and Newtown in 1983 at Henson Park. Dunno about teh English game but suspect that 0-0 and try less games are a rarity.

I though I had sneazed and missed a try... but alas no. What a great advertisment for RL!

    Re: Four Nations

i live in spain and the only english language channel i can get is cnn

it's been a nightmare for the last couple of weeks or so because theyve gone completely overboard on the RU WC!!

let's hope they provide some coverage for the RL WC next year

i seriously doubt it but you never know!  im going to be writing to cnn to make sure they at least know about it....would be great if a few other people did the same, not only with cnn but with the news companies where they live

    Re: Four Nations

Like yourself, here in Deutschland I have the same issue. I was sick of them throwing soccer reporters at the RU who had no idea about the sport. It was sick bag material to the extreme. I have contacted CNN three times this year about their lack of coverage of Rugby League... got not one peep out of them.

    Re: Four Nations

I am sure they will but don't expect a huge US audience for it. Fox is not over here in Europe where really when you look at it, battle lines are starting to be drawn.

What we need (and this was said months back in the RLIF forum), is someone with a tone on money and stupid enough to put into the sport and give it its required kickstart... i.e. be willing to loose money in the process of building it up. Russel crow looks like the most likely contender... not that rusty is stupid, I quite like the larakin.

    Re: Four Nations

Yes that's why I mentioned him, on Australia day against Leeds Rhinos!

This is what I mean one man can do so much. I seriously would go for the RLIF job if they advertised it. I would atlest be scrolling through the forums to see what people views are.

    Re: Four Nations

do you think it could be a good idea to get some kind of an online petition together asking for fair, unbiased coverage (and plenty of it) of the RL WC,

with the idea of sending it to the leading news agencies (bbc, cnn, reuters, efe)??

    something to think about!!

    Re: Four Nations

I do some stuff with RLD, I film their games and go out to all their games and support them. Was in heidelberg and Prague to see the guys play and will be in Nuernberg later this year for their "State of Origin". I have been talking with Kevin Rudd about getting involved at some level with the RLEF. But its hard to know whats going on with the RLIF since their web site has gone down... So if there are jobs then there is no way to know about it.

overhaul...1 rep each from aus, nz, england, png, france, wales, tonga, samoa, fiji, russia, ireland meeting twice a year to discuss the international game and the state of the game in their respective countries
