So what's the deal with players not picked for the kiwis or australia playing for samoa or tonga? Does this mean they're stuck playing for these countries until they're good enough to play for the kiwis or australia then they can just change back?

If i wasn't chosen by NZ to play in rlwc and eligible to play for samoa/tonga, i wouldn't want to risk my chances playing for NZ in the future just to play for samoa/tonga in the world cup....even though I'd love to play in either of these teams!

Anyway, its good to see a more even competition with players possibly going back to their roots. Samoa vs Tonga is going to be fiiiiiire!

Here's my revised Mate Ma'a Tonga team, with a 3 forwards/1 back interchange... Tony Williams is a winger but can play in the forwards as well, also if any of the backs get injured, Fraser or Anthony Tupou can slot into centre so all good

Sadly (for Tonga), Manu Vatuvei & Sika Manu have been picked for NZ (but great for them for sure!)

Also, Brent Kite & Isreal Folau have been selected for the kangaroos, good on you boys!

But, wow! Anthony Tupou & Michael Jennings are free to play for Tonga!, also Epalahame Lauaki....Willie Mason -Injured, also spoke to Louis last week, he and brother Vinnie are injured.

Unfortunately (for Tonga) there are a couple changes… Anthony Tupou was recalled to the Kangaroos squad, to cover M Crocker’s injury… also Willie Tonga was not selected, or I think he has an injury…

Still, plenty of cover for these 2… Tupou is a huge loss but there is good cover in the forwards.

Channel Nine are stupid for not televising this clash between Samoa and Tonga, i think if they advertised this and played this at the SFS people would want to go see this clash. They can build it up as the battle of islands. I seriously cant wait for this game.

Although I'll be supporting Tonga 1st, naturally i'll be keeping an eye on the Kiwi lads as well mate... they're prob the closest there is to a combined Pacific Island/Maori team anyway lol!!!!

Like the Tonga-Kiwi game this week, I want both teams to do well but know at the end of the day most Tongans and Samoans will go for the Kiwi's should they progress further. If anything, a DRAW this Saturday will be fine hahahahaha
