I think the figure is a popultion base figure and so much how many will watch... but then again if the RU mob are allowed to get away with quoted of 4 billion watching then why can't we have 500 million! :)

Hey spud is this the tournament that will replace the 6 nations next year? Has anyone heard anything else about this around the traps?

Oh i don't doubt 500million will get coverage, it's the 149 countries that i doubt.

Having worked in PNG I can confirm it is the rumour capital of the world. I would wait for official confirmation. I would be very keen to watch this tournament on TV though and I hope FOX or channel 9 pick it up in Oz.

Well its Jamaica ATM... not sure if they are quite ready for the trials and tribulations of a tournie like that, and SA is just too far... there needs to be something loser to home for them. Their tour to England this year will be really good. PNG have to be ther no matter what!
