    World Cup tickets

Re: Next "On Sale" 18th Feb. has anyone any news? A group of us have booked a tour ourselves,  Saving about £2000 on the official package tours. We need to know if we will actually be able to get tickets? Apart from posting about on sale for 18th Feb, do we actually know anything about how we can buy tickets? Like a lot of other people, we have committed a lot of money in good faith to support rugby league, what support have we got officially? not a lot i think!

    Re: World Cup tickets

If anybody wants advice on booking tours, I have booked for a group of friends, (20 in total ) with Austravel. I have  personally been to Australia 4 times, twice with Austravel. Would really recommend them. they have sorted a tour out for 20of us with lots of chopping and changing, and been very good with prices et. have a look at them.www.austravel.co.uk

    I am not on commission!

    Re: World Cup tickets

Wendy, is what you are saying ,, you have booked your trip but have not got tickets for the 20 of your group?

If this is what you are saying, then you had better pull your finger out come feb 18th,  i think you can only get up to 4 or eight tickets when you book, so you will have to get someone else to also buy tickets?   and then this means you all wont be sitting right next to one another,  this is why people book through a travel agency,   any how , just hope you get tickets, and if you dont get them to the final, then you just might have to watch it on a big screen at one of the pubs, the atmosphere is nearly the same as being at the ground anyway. good luck .

    Re: World Cup tickets

Yes we have booked flights and accomodation without getting tickets. We decided we all wanted to go anyway, and as you say we could always watch it in a bar, but we will definitely be on the phone or web on 18th to get our tickets. We are 6 families so i suppose if were not all sat together we will just sit in our smaller groups. Although there was facility for group booking for Aus residents so not sure if we will be able to do that.

    Re: World Cup tickets

I think you'll find that there will be some big screens set up also. If you can't get tickets to some matches, one idea is to find the nearest leagues club and watch the games on the big screen TV. LC's have cheeper drinks as they are clubs and have some sort of tax breaks I believe and also their bistros tend to have great food.

    Some I recommend

Brisbane - Broncos leagues at Aspley, Easts in Coorparoo and Wynnum Manly at Wynnum (though this may be a bit too far out from the city)

Sydney - Panthers, Paramatta leagues, Easts and probably the newly redeveloped souths leagues. All close to WC venues.

Don;t know the venues at Canberra, Melbourne, Newcastle, W'gong, Townsville or Rocky. Others may have other good places to go and watch the games.

    Re: World Cup tickets

Yeh heading to a leagues club would be a good idea if your unlucky and can't get tickets. I know in Rocky the rocky leagues club is beside Browne park, if you can get a seat on the balcony or out the back you are about 10 metres from the dead ball line. Also there is brothers leagues club about 3k away.

    Re: World Cup tickets

I am not 100% sure but i think you can order them through a travel agent in blighty england, i think i was looking through a agent and noticed a section they had if you were making your own arrangements. You can still order tickets through them? Worth a try,

Worth checking this option, because otherwise you might need to know someone over here who can get your tickets and even then i dont know how mant are left?

    Re: World Cup tickets

at suncorp i'm up in the gods, 3rd tier behind the sticks..

melbourne, pretty much the same,3rd tier behind the sticks, i was hoping they were going to pull out the bottom tier to make it rectangular..but it looks like they are'nt..so i'd rather be up high so i can see everything..

townsville,i've got a "general admission" ticket which i assume is for the one of the hills?..a couple of the stands have all ready  sold out which is a good sign.
