Sonny Bill, Steve Matai, David Fa'alogo and co set to turn their backs on the kiwis and rep Toa Samoa at the Cup 08''
the withdrawl of Bennet after the Anzac test hasnt helped NZ's cause in trying to keep a steady ship. Nigel Vagana and co are on a mission to round up the best of the best and looking at the options its looking real good. 1. Krisnan Inu 2. Matt Utai 3. Steve Matai 4. Iosia Soliola 5. David Vaealiki 6. Reni Maitua
7. Nigel Vagana
8. Jeff Lima 9. Motu Tony 10. David Solomona 11. Tony Puletua
12. Ali Lauititi
13. Sonny Bill Williams
Frank Pritchard, Jeremy Smith, Hutch Maiava, Malo Solomona, Henry Fa'afili, Francis Meli the list goes on, who do you leave out, watch out world!!

no chance, nor should there be. half the players you have mentioned are current nz internationals. any team with nigel vagana named at halfback is a joke anyway, he barely cuts it in the centres these days.

watch this space, I have good sources and besides what nz gonna do?! they're gonna pick the ma again next year no matter what, Josh Ackland is coaching the samoans and prepare for the coup of the year, this team will eat any english side up and we'll go close. The same is going down with tonga with fuifui moimoi going back.

kiwi internationals because the international comp only accomadates for the tri nations and nothing else, this is a world cup! where the best from each nation is represented, its every four years and the loop whole allows it, look at Tonie Carrol?! theres a kiwi jersy for him if he wnats it and he's hasnt made himself available for the kiwis for the last 3 years? whats the difference....excitng times for the smaller nations of world league

Sorry tamatoa, i strongly doubt it will happen, sure the odd player here and there have gone back to samoa and tonga for the WC but not all these stars.
You know there is a rule that you have to wait 2 years before you can switch countries or until AFTER a world cup. Matai played last year so he can't pley for samoa until 2009 same with alot of player you mentioned. Carroll won't be playing for NZ because he played SOO last year and that rules him out, although he will tell you he changed his mind. Besides carroll wouldnt even make the NZ starting 17 IMO. I wouldn't mind having a look at these sources, you show me a vow from the players themselfs and it still wont happen, simply because if RLIF wont stop it, NZRL will. NZRL hold alot more power than Tonga or Samoa RL and they wouldn't let these players go because there are rules keeping them at NZ. There would be major legal situations and that isnt something league needs.

Also a few of players you mentioned in your list above will not be playing for NZ, nor samoa, atleast 2 of them are tongan.

David Solomona and Jeff Lima are tongan.
As for MoiMoi and Tuiaki, the difference in that situation was simply that NZRL hold alot more power than TongaRL and will not let it happen.

david solomona is samoan he played for them at the last world cup and jeff lima played for samoa in last years qualifyers, check out toa samoa on you tube and you'll see him singing the national anthem.

yeh my bad on solomona, i got him mixed up with someone else. Jeff Lima, i though he had played for tonga, according to wikipedia he has played for both. Still though this doesn't change the fact that there are rules that NZ will have enforced to stop players like matai, lima and SBW switching to Samoa.

im not sure what the go is with the rules?! I didnt even realise the NZRL had such strength. it'd be sad for the cup if there was a big rebuke towards the kiwi team but in saying that time will tell.

Well the rule is no player is able to switch countries unless they wait 2 years or after a WC. Now latley NZ and Australia have been exceptions to the rules, which is Bullsh*t in itself. Some prime example are: 1. the moimoi, tuiakia incident, they were allowed to switch to NZ in a clear breach of the rules. 2. the Farrah incident, where he was alowed to play for lebanon only then to be told that if he did he couldn't play WC for australia, once again australia pulling it's weight.
